We have five wonderfully spacious rooms for you to relax, sit and sleep in. The premium here is on maximum comfort: comfy beds so many of our guests praise, lovely fluffy towels in the immaculate bathrooms, lots of period features and touches. All bathrooms have quality toiletries and hairdryer, and each room, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits, and fresh milk is available from a dedicated guest fridge.
All rooms are usually available for single use, please refer to book on line availability and tariff.
Wi-fi internet is accessible from all guests bedrooms.
Our second floor rooms offer guests the same 5 star facilities of those on the first floor, and have the charm that attic rooms offer rather than the more grandiose element of our first floor rooms.
The Duchess Suite
A pride and a joy. Has a beautiful four-poster King-size bed, a shower room and a bathroom, two soft armchairs, a period dressing table and pretty co-ordinated drapes and a lovingly-worked three-foot stool with tapestry lid. Also has a flat screen 26 inch TV with integrated DVD player and a front garden view from two windows. Overall, a wonderful sense of space and feeling of comfort. £85- £100 per night for the room and breakfast. A special occasion? You may wish to enhance your visit with our Celebration package. The Duke - Single/Family
Very pleasant sunny single room in a quiet alcove, with a terrific garden view. Has own washbasin and WC.
Travelling in a threesome? The Duke forms a triple booking with The Duchess Suite (see below) or with any of the other doubles + £20. Travelling in 2's but wishing to sleep apart, pay the price of a double plus £5 for the Duke, (see below) NB The Duke occupant shares the shower facility of their travelling companion.
As a general rule the room is not available to a solo traveller, but should the Duchess suite not be booked we will entertain last minute requests in quieter periods. The room needs to use the Duchess suite shower facility in this instance.
The Cavendish
Our lovely super king/twin has two deep armchairs overlooking our spectacular one-acre garden, with a view to the Pennine hills beyond, and a spacious walk-in shower room en suite. Cavendish also has a rare feature, a walk-in wardrobe, plus a French antique dressing table. Flat screen 26 inch TV with integrated DVD player. The super king bed has the option of twin beds, this configuration will receive priority in room allocation as it is our only twin room. From £70-90 per night for the room with breakfast.
The Devonshire
Light, warm and welcoming, this en-suite double has a King-size bed, a wonderful nineteenth century walnut wardrobe, two windows looking out onto the glorious garden view, two armchairs, a dressing table and 32 inch flat-screen TV and DVD. Guests love the cascades of enveloping hot water the generous shower cubicle delivers. £70-£90 per night for the room with breakfast.
Grinlow
Comfy-cosy Grinlow on the second floor has a double bed. Furnished in smart pine, a leather settee for two, LCD Television and DVD player. There is plenty of space for a very comfortable and restful stay. The spacious ensuite has a shower cubicle. The room overlooks our bird feeding station, towards its namesake Grinlow woods! £70-£85 per night for the room with breakfast.
The Rookery
The Rookery on the second floor has the most comfortable king size bed, a very tasteful bathroom en-suite with bath and shower over, a smart settee, 32 inch flat screen TV and DVD You also overlook Grinlow and the garden front, and yes, there are rooks! £70-£90 per night for the room with breakfast.
Duke and Duchess Family suite
Those travelling as a 3 can opt for our Duke and Duchess rooms, the Duke occupant would have their own washbasin and WC with direct access to the shower and bath rooms of The Duchess. Add £20 to Duchess price.
The “Duke Double”
Travelling in two but sleeping separately? An arrangement worth considering is to take The Duke single and a double. Here you'd pay for the cost of 2 in the double, add £5 for The Duke.
Single visitors
We offer a minimum £15 discount for single use of a bedroom at most times,
the online booking system has built in price for 1 person.
