- Q: Is the house entirely non-smoking?
- A: Yes
- Q: Do you have wireless internet connection?
A: Yes, we do. We’ll give you a password you can use when you arrive.
- Q: How soon in the day can I check in?
A: By 3.30pm normally, but special arrangement can usually be made if you phone and give us plenty of notice. Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 5.30pm
- Q: How late can I check out?
A: By 10.30am, please.
- Q: When do I have to pay my bill?
A: Your bill for the accommodation is payable on departure.
- Q: Can I pay with a credit or debit card?
A: Yes, but there is an extra 2% charge for this service.
- Q: What time is breakfast?
A: From around 8.15am, but open to discussion.
- Q: What time is the evening meal if I have it?
A: Dinner is usually at 7pm.
- Q: Will I be able to park inside Grendon?
A: Yes, we have plenty of space with the property grounds on a loose chippings surface. Alternatively you can park on the quiet road.
- Q: Will I be able to bring my dog?
A: If it’s a guide dog, then certainly. Other dogs, possibly. Do ring us and we’ll try to accommodate you.
- Q: Do you provide a laundry service? How much does it cost?
A: About £2 per wash, no more than £3. We can provide an ironing board for you too, and an iron, of course.
- Q: Can I get a drink and some food really close by?
A: The Duke of York pub is just 2 minutes walk away. It serves tasty food and a range of hand-pulled English beers.
- Q: Will my room have a telephone?
A: No, but you can use a house phone for essential calls. Cost is very small.
- Q: Do you have a hair-dryer in every room?
A: Yes.
- Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: You’ll find it on the terms page.
- Q: Can I borrow a sewing kit from you, and such like?
A: Of course youcan. If you need anything, just ask and we’ll do our best to provide.
- Q: How far is the town centre from Grendon?
A: Not far, just a 15 minute stroll from our front door through some lovely gardens and parks. It’s a very pleasant walk.
- Q: What’s the town like for parking?
A: Pretty good. There are several paying car parks, but you can also park in several side streets in the centre that I can tell you about when you arrive.
- Q: How far is Manchester airport?
A: A short-hour away: we do it in around 45 minutes.
- Q: How far are places such as Chatsworth, Bakewell, Matlock and Ashbourne?
A: Not far. All can be reached by car within 30 minutes. See the Location page for more details.
